Touch your music with your gPod Touch

gPod is now available in a TOUCH version. This new version is a complete rewrite of gPod Controller. It is significantly smaller in filesize (about 1/8th the size of gPod Controller), and does not include the Shuffle, or Nano interfaces. It is meant to look like the (you guessed it) iPod Touch. Most features are available in this version, with more planned on being added soon. It is really pretty cool. Check out the gadget here. There are also instructions for this version, which can be found here.

As all gadgets, it requires Google Desktop to run (link on gadget page). The gPod gadget’s also require iTunes Music Player for operation. This gadget is NOT a separate media player, it is a controller for iTunes. So, please, enjoy this new gadget, and forward any questions you have to http://glennrivkees.com/support/.

Can’t Spell?

I have a problem: I can’t spell. That is why I created the SpellChecker Gadget. All I have to do is type in a word, and I instantly get spelling corrections and a definition of the word. It has greatly simplified my life. I no longer have to open a Word doc or type a word in Google just to check the spelling of a word. Try it for yourself!

Am I Blocked?: the fix

I have fixed the bug with Am I Blocked? that caused it to not work with MSN. The gadget now works correctly with AIM, ICQ, Skype, Windows Live (MSN), and Yahoo! Messenger. In addition, I have added a drop down menu that can be used as a alternate method of selecting the IM service. The expand button for this menu can be found by the “Am I Blocked” label in the gadget’s UI.

The latest version of this gadget (3.5.0.0) can be downloaded on the Am I Blocked? page.

Update: MSN is still broken. A fix is in the works.

There’s always something in your gadget that you wish you could improve. Maybe it’s just a misaligned element, or maybe it’s a bug that causes your gadget to cease functioning. Sure it’s easy to fix these problems, but how do existing users become informed about the new versions?

Control iTunes with your gPod Nano 3G gadget!

Yes, that’s right, finally, by popular demand, I present to you, the NANO 3G gPOD! (here shown with the Nano 2G and Shuffle, still available in the gadget)

This version (3.0.0.0) also includes many other bug fixes for the old styles. In addition, there are now a plethora of colors for the gPod Shuffle. I would like to thank Daniel Bauman for all the help he gave me with the gPod Nano 3G and new Shuffle images.
Lastly, as requested, there is now an option to disable the volume control. Some users were finding themselves accidentally activating it. The options dialog can also now be opened by clicking the menu button.

Clock Gadget Madness!

Today I am thrilled to be able to announce THREE new gadgets. And all of them are CLOCKS!
There are three different types of clocks. I’ll give a little info on each.

TIMEline Gadget

This gadget shows the time in a moving line. The number line moves and the red line marks the current time. A neat stretch on the traditional clock.

Verbarius Clock Gadget

I’m a a huge fan of Art. Lebedev Studio. This gadget is based off their Verbarius clock. Instead of showing the time in the traditional numbers, this clock writes out the time in words using a randomly selected format. Each minute, you can read the time in a different way!

VertiClock Gadget

A twist on the traditional clock, in VertiClock the numbers–instead of the hands–move. To read this clock, look at the arrow, which will always point straight up toward the rotating gear of numbers.

Hanukkah Gadget: Coundown and Candles

I recently finished a new Google Gadget named “Hanukkah Menorah”. This gadget counts down to the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. Once Hanukkah has begun, the gadget will light the Hanukkah Candles each night at sundown.
